DISCWORLD COMES TO CHELTENHAM
Renowned fantasy writer and creator of the Discworld novels, Terry Pratchett, and director, Vadim Jean,
Leon the Pig Farmer, will be joining us at the Screenwriter' Festival in July to talk about their
recent collaboration on 'The Colour of Magic' for Sky, having both worked together on last years
'The Hogfather'.
The initial programme will be available on line on the Festival website on Friday 14th March 2008.

With close to 1000 entries 'A Pitch in Time' in association with 4Talent, is now closed. Now comes the
job of sifting through each and every idea, synopsis and pitch before choosing the ten that will go
through to the master classes and the live pitching event at the Festival in July. We will contact the
winners on Monday the 17th March. All ten will receive a free three day ticket to the
Festival which will give them access to all of our sessions, workshops and discussions as well as the
opportunity to network with all the type of people you really should be networking with.
As explained in the rules, each of the ten shortlisted are responsible for their own transport, accommodation and food at the festival.

This week's guest speaker profiles are writer/actor/director Julian Fellowes and writer Lucy Prebble.
SPEAKER PROFILE - #05 - Julian Fellowes

Writer/Director/Actor Julian Fellowes is a SWF'06 luminary and a member of the Festival Advisory Board.
Well known for his Oscar winning script for Robert Altman's 'Gosford Park', he then went on to write and
direct his drama ‘Separate Lies’. He has also written the script for the recently shot 'Young Victoria'
which will be released later this year, starring Emily Blunt. Julian is entertaining, humorous and outspoken
in his insights into the life of a working screenwriters.

SPEAKER PROFILE #06 - Lucy Prebble
|
Writer Lucy’s adaptation of ‘A Secret Diary of a Call Girl’ starring Billie Piper, which was based on the
blogs of real life call girl Belle De Jour, was the stand-out in ITV2’s recent Big Thursday season. Prior
to that she has won the prestigious George Devine Award for her outstanding debut play 'The Sugar Syndrome'
and has adapted Jane Austen’s epistolary novella ‘Lady Susan’ for Celador Films and BBC4.
Lucy is currently writing a play for the Headlong Theatre Company based on the Enron debacle.
