Rail Travel Disruption Monday 26th to Friday 30th October
There will be NO direct trains from Paddington to Cheltenham Spa for the week of the Festival, Monday 26th to Thursday 29th October, all trains will go via Bristol (either Parkway or Temple Meads).
They are carrying out maintenence work in preperation for a major overhall and line additions that will take place throughout 2010.

Between 26th and 30th October the train line between Swindon and Cheltenham Spa will be closed.
An amended train service will be in operation, with rail replacement transport operating along the route.
What work are Network Rail carrying out?
During this time, Network Rail will be carrying out necessary maintenance work. This includes the relining of Sapperton Tunnel, repairing the embankment on the Kemble line, and cutting back vegetation along the route.
These works are being implemented in order to deliver improved standards of safety, reliability and efficiency.
What is the proposed train plan?
In addition to rail replacement transport operating along the line of the closed route, there will be an amended train service that goes via an alternative route.
Two peak time morning and evening services between Cheltenham and Paddington will operate via Bristol Parkway:
0543 Cheltenham to Paddington
1748 Paddington to Cheltenham
