How to submit your script....

Please read the rules and prepare your material accordingly before the online form.

- You MUST purchase, or have already purchased, a four day ticket to the Festival before you can enter. 

- No short films/experimental films/commercials/music videos/radio scripts.

- No longer than 120 pages (2 hours) or shorter than 30 pages (30 minutes).

- Scripts/Synopses/Taglines must be in ENGLISH.

- Only the 30 chosen will get the FREE Script Report and will be able to take part in the FREE 'Market Ready' Workshop in London in June.

On Friday 27th February from 9.00am at the bottom of the page you will be able to click through to begin the registration process, please have the following information to hand;

  • Username/Password. (The system will already have your Registration Number/First Name & Surname filled in.)
  • Script Name.
  • Script Type. (Click on each to see an example)
    Feature Film
    One-off TV Drama
    TV Pilot (for a returnable series)
    Sit-com Pilot (for a returnable series)
    Web based Series Pilot
  • Script Length.
    Feature film – no more than 120 pages (2 hours)
    One-off TV Drama – no more than 90 pages (1 and a half hours)
    TV Pilot (for a returnable series) – max 30 pages for 30 minutes & max 60 pages for one hour
    Thirty Minute Sit-com Pilot (for a returnable series) – 30 pages
    Web based Series Pilot – less than 10 pages
  • Is this Script Optioned?  If so please provide as many details as possible, including by whom, for how long and on what terms?
  • Logline/Tagline (25 words or less) and Synopsis (250 words or less) -You will be able to cut and paste what you have already prepared.
  • What category of industry professional would you like to meet?

  • At the end you will be asked to upload the full script as a PDF file only.
  • You MUST only send entry material through the Scripmarket Registration page ONLY – sending by email will not be accepted.
  • The 30 finalists will be told they have got through on Friday 8th May 2009

These 30 will then have the opportunity to come to a one day Market Ready Workshop in London on the 4th June where they will attend a seminar and have a meeting with the judging panel to talk about their script, who they should meet and what, if any, improvements can be made to advance the project before the Festival meeting.  If you are a finalist and you are will not be in the UK on that specific date, we can schedule a phone call on the day with one of the Interviewing Panel.

The 30 finalists will have three weeks to make any script changes if they wish, although they don’t have to, before the script is sent out to the Meetings Panel to attract their interest in reading your script.

The 30 finalists will all get the free script report that is based on the initial script entered.

Everyone else who entered the Scriptmarket and is not chosen, do not fret, your script can be entered into the new Scriptwriters’ Festival Script Library.

Anyone attending the Festival as a Delegate will be allowed to place the first ten pages of upto 5 scripts accompanied by a synopsis for each and your contact details, in the Script Library which will available to be viewed at the festival.  They will be able to read your first 10 pages/synopsis and contact you if they are interested and want to read more.
